The online RTI Guru portal is a one-window facility enabling applicants to file their applications in a secure and confidential manner, track the status of their applications, communicate with the officers concerned and receive replies from them on a regular basis. This RTI application will be useful for the first-time applicant to File RTI Online. No other software is currently offering this facility to Apply RTI online application. This would also save a lot of time and money, as one can make use of this application without having to travel all the way to the PIO’s office physically.

This RTI Guru Portal is a revolutionary effort of the Department of Personnel & Training (DOPT) to ensure that the Right to Information Act 2005 receives its true spirit which is to bring transparency, accountability and good governance in public administration. This portal enables you to submit your RTI application directly through your mobile device, quickly get Information Commissioner's orders online, track status of appeals on line and Apply RTI Online applications.

What documents are needed to File RTI Online?

Apply RTI Online includes:

·         Examination of work,

·         Documents and records;

·         Taking notes,

·         Excerpts or certified clones of documents or records.

·         One can file an application electronically.

·         Upload scanned documents.

File RTI Online provides information on the Right to Information Act, 2005 and facilitates filing of RTI applications and appeals. There is a provision for tracking the status of the application/appeal on the portal. The website also enables depositing of cash towards RTI fee (online). While the RTI Guru portal is functional, it still lacks some essential features. For instance, there is a provision for online payment of fee or uploading of documents. The portal also has a user manual which makes it easy to navigate through the website.
